Irvine, California Jetstar’s first aircraft enters service with Burrana RISE Power + Passenger Service Solution.
The first Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner in Jetstar’s fleet equipped with Burrana’s RISE Power + Passenger Service Solution (PSS) has entered service, marking a key milestone in the airline’s fleet-wide cabin refurbishment program. The retrofit program spans eleven aircraft and introduces Burrana’s integrated seat power and passenger service platform, including the first installation of dual 60W USB-C outlets at every seat across both Business and Economy Class, serving a total of 325 passengers.
Each seat is equipped with a passenger control unit supporting reading light and attendant call functions, alongside dual 60W USB-C outlets capable of charging modern personal electronic devices within an hour.
Jetstar is the launch customer for Burrana’s power-centric cabin architecture, integrating passenger service functionality directly into the RISE Power platform. By embedding passenger controls within the seat power system, Burrana eliminates the need for additional seat hardware while reducing weight, installation complexity, and aircraft wiring. The result is a streamlined seat architecture where power becomes the foundation of passenger interaction within the cabin.
David Pook, VP Global Marketing & Sales at Burrana, said: “The entry into service of the first Jetstar aircraft equipped with RISE Power + PSS represents an important milestone for Burrana and our airline partners. As more airlines transition toward wireless entertainment and connected cabin experiences, integrated seat power and passenger service functionality becomes critical cabin infrastructure on wide body aircraft. Our one-box architecture delivers both while reducing weight and complexity, and we’re proud to support Jetstar in bringing this upgraded cabin experience to passengers.”
