Burrana, a global leader in cabin technology solutions, is excited to announce the launch of its award-winning RISE Power system with integrated Passenger Service Solutions (PSS) at AIX 25.
This new solution is particularly valuable for widebody aircraft being refurbished for non-traditional missions, a growing trend among Low-Cost Long-Haul carriers. As airlines increasingly remove traditional seatback IFE systems to save weight and cost or to implement wireless IFE and IFC, the demand for standalone solutions for both in-seat power and PSS has grown. Burrana’s integrated RISE Power + PSS solution uniquely addresses this need and allows airlines to streamline their retrofit programs, making it a highly efficient solution for modernizing widebody aircraft.
Burrana’s solution allows for the addition of PSS functionality (attendant call and reading lights) within the RISE Power architecture with one box powering both USB outlets and essential PSS features, eliminating the need for separate PSS hardware.
Burrana remains committed to customizing products and services to meet the specific needs of each airline, simplifying processes along the way. The launch of RISE Power + PSS is timely, as delays in OEM linefit deliveries have disrupted many airlines’ fleet plans, resulting in the delayed retirement of legacy aircraft. Airlines now face the challenge of either retrofitting outdated IFE systems or exploring aircraft leasing options. Burrana’s solution offers airlines a streamlined, cost-effective alternative that is designed to meet the evolving demands of the aviation industry.
RISE Power + PSS is designed for 747, 767, 777, 787, A330 and A340 aircraft types. The first aircraft modification is anticipated to enter service in 2026 on a launch customer to be announced soon.
